Analytics / Reporting

Analytics is storytelling with data. The stories we help tell at OneShot Data can be broken down into three categories: descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. Descriptive analytics is the most common and most thought-of form of analytics - it's dashboards that tell you about your past and how your business is doing. Predictive analytics is all about forecasting and trying to assumptions about the future - sometimes there's data science involved, and sometimes it's more of an educated guess than science. Prescriptive analytics is what you can do NOW to impact your business and is tied to performance outcomes. Prescriptive analytics is where few organizations are - it's what businesses want when they think of data-driven decision-making - and we can help you get there.

We are experienced and can help your business with Sales Analytics, (Growth) Marketing Analytics, Inventory Analytics, and Category Management.

Cloud Platforms

Cloud Platforms may seem overly complex, but they are vital for rapid scalability and cost-efficiency in a "big data" world. With cloud platforms, you don't need to worry about setting up and maintaining the underlying infrastructure. Instead, you can simply access or spin up the services you need over the internet (e.g. storage, computing power, etc.), and pay only for what you use. This allows organizations to be more agile in their computing needs while ensuring 24/7/365 uptimes without having to make large capital expenditures for hardware and software.

Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)

ETL is the process used in data analytics and data warehousing to extract data from multiple sources, transform it into a consistent format, and load it into a data warehouse or a data lake. Think about the last time you looked at some data. It likely originated from various systems and in various formats. This data was cleaned, deduplicated, and manipulated into a consistent format, before being loaded into a database where you accessed it for analysis. The ETL process is usually glossed over when analytics is mentioned but it's important to remember that the insights you generate are only as good as the data that fuels your report. "Junk in, junk out" applies here.

Marketing Technology (MarTech)

Marketing Technology (MarTech) refers to the technology stack that helps streamline and optimizes your marketing efforts (e.g. advertising, branding, customer engagement, etc.). There are a wide range of tools and platforms that business can use in their MarTech stack - they include customer relationship management (CRM) systems, social media management schedulers, and email marketing platforms, among others. With such a diverse toolset, it's important to have a team that can work with your business to ensure the right tools and platforms are satisfying your marketing needs but also enabling data-driven decisions as you execute your marketing strategies.
